When was the last time that Iran threatened the Jews with extermination? It was 2500 years ago, when the King of Iran gave his minister Haman permission to kill almost all the Jews in the world. We celebrate on Purim how Haman was stopped - when we did the greatest mass Tshuva, repentance, of Jewish history.
During historic moments of truth such as this, the Jewish people should be mindful of the section of Leviticus (26:3) that says:
“If you will follow My decrees and observe My commandments… I will provide peace in the land… You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword…. But if you will not listen to Me and will not perform all of these commandments… you will be struck down before your enemies…I will lay your cities in ruin”...

A world moving towards Truth
A few months ago I came across this video , (TO WATCH IT - scroll to bottom of the post) which brings to light a list of new words that are no longer politically correct and therefore can not be used in kids textbooks in the USA. Among those words are Deaf, Poor, Americans...(YEAH AMERICANS?) and many others. It seems a little strange at first, like what is going on here? I think the main point to notice here is that these words are offensive to some people and therefore people should avoid them. Looking at this specific point, I think it is definitely a GREAT thing and a step in the right direction. On the other hand, do these words that they are choosing have any intrinsic bad in them? As some of those words could also be used for a good purpose and not necessarily in an offensive manner. Also whatever word they are planning to take out of textbooks will be replaced with a word that has the exact same meaning and therefore may become offensive once again. Will the new words be removed in another 5 years? What is really offensive: the word or what they portray? Something to think about.
Anyways, thanks to Hashem, proper speech was taught to the Jewish People apprx 3000 years ago when we received the Torah. The Great Kabbalist, The Ramchal z"l (i.e.,HaRav Moshe Chaim Luzzato from around 250 yrs ago, explicitly teaches us a lesson for life about proper speech in his book of Messilat Yesharim (Path of the Just)
Here is my English translation of what he says:
A general rule: One's evil inclination has many ways [to make a person stumble, but know this:] anything a person says that can possibly cause harm or disgrace to his friend, whether in his presence or behind his back, this falls under the transgression of "Lashon Harah". It is hated and vile before G-d. (שנאוי ומתועב לפני המקום).
As it is written:
Erchin page 16b: "Anyone who speaks loshon hara is like one who has denied everything (i.e., all of Torah)"
and
Tehillim 101: "He who slanders his neighbor in secret, Him I will cut down."
Back to american text books: As weird as it seems, If we focus on the good point that "Offensive words should be avoided" , we can see how the world is slowly coming to the realization of what our Holy Torah taught us many many years ago...
So, I think we are a seeing yet another sign that the world is moving towards, and laying out the groundwork for the final redemption in which The Truth will be revealed to the whole world.
Other interesting signs...
• Product reviews / user comments all over the internet leave businesses no choice but to be honest about the products that they try to sell. (truth)

• Abundance of knowledge available to everyone via internet. (knowledge)
• Via Internet - Everyone in the world can receive the same information simultaneously (oneness)
• Creation of the Euro, talks of the Amero, (currencies, countries coming together) conspiracies of a One World government. (oneness)

Protection from birth pangs of Moshiach and the War of Gog and Magog
The war of Gog and Magog is said to take place just before the final redemption and it will be a war in which Yishmael and Esav will get the best of each other. Yishmael is the representation of Ta'ava in the world, which means desires and lust. While Esav is the representation of Ga'ava , which means conceit & haughtiness. What can a Jew do to be protected from harm during such times of war? Our Sages teach us that the way is through our actions, specifically through that of Talmud Torah (Torah study) and Gemilut Hassadim (Bestowing kindness to another).
Torah Study to counter attack lusts and desires
and bestowing kindness to counter attack conceit & haughtiness.
An action which is also said to be a protective measure for the war of Gog and Magog is making sure to eat a "Seudah Shelishit" (3rd meal) on Shabbat.
Now here is another practical application of the above concept: if you notice yourself falling into the depths of any of those negative character traits (i.e., lusts, desires, conceit and/or haughtiness) then try to work on on the corresponding "counter attack" to lift yourself back up.
Always remember: Only Hashem can watch over us and protect us. Ain Od Milvado!
Ketiva, Vechatima Tova.

THE END OF DAYS - Just when you thought you have heard it all.
An amazing, clear, and short explanation of the end of days. 6000 years corresponding to the 6 days of creation, what happened on the 10th hour on the 6 day of creation and what is time is it now? How long will the ressurection of the dead take? How much time does that leave for the ultimate redemption?

Longest Total Solar Eclipse of the century ...ends off with the Star of David.
Amazing footage of the longest solar eclipse in the century (Thanks to: Rabbi Rachamim Pauli for the video link) You have to watch to the very end of the clip - you will see the shine of the sun give off a beautiful Magen David shape.
What does this mean? I don't know.
Here is a possible way to look at it: The long eclipse is a reminder of the long darkness that the Jewish people have endured throughout the exile and continue to endure. The light that shines forth at the end is to remind us of the light at the end of the tunnel which will be that of the Star David (i.e The Moshiach Ben David) may it be soon in our time. (-:

[Gemara Sukkah 29a] Our Rabbis
taught in a Baraita: “At the time that
the sun is eclipsed, it is a bad sign
for the idolaters (a general reference to
the gentile nations).
What does this mean? I don't know.

As quoted by HaRav Amnon Yitzchak (See original 3 min Hebrew video of the Rav): In the book of Imrei Bina of the RAVAD (Avraham ben David HaLevy)written about 1000 years ago says the following: "At the end of the jubilee year of 48, the year 5768. A year afterwards, the Great Jubilee year 5769, (that would be this current year) the Pasuk: "Yom Nakam b'libi" will be fulfilled, in by which G-d will take revenge on the nations of the world."
So if you put it all together...it's sounds pretty scary.
The times are changing at a rapid speed. G-d is not hiding the reality from us. North Korea is getting antsy - Iran is playing with fire - and USA is not the friend it used to be.
Israel has nothing to fear.
We have (G-d) Hashem as our protector - we always did and we always will.
We have to hang on to the Torah and Mitzvot that Hashem gave us...fulfill them with joy.. and get closer to Him. Now is the time. May Hashem protect Bnei Yisrael at all times.
Have a Good Shabbos!

Regarding the Magen David shaped Sun glare:
Someone had recently commented, saying that the lens flare of a Magen David shape could be done by using a certain type of camera lens. If that is true, I think BBC should use those more often. (-:

I also spoke with some video/photography guys to get their opinion. They have never seen this effect before, although anything is possible. Overall, they liked it.

"They encircled me like bees..."
It says in Tehillim 118:12(PSalms)
"They encircled me like bees; they were extinguished like a thorn fire; in the name of the Lord that I shall cut them off."סבוני כדבורים, דועכו כאש קוצים - בשם ה’ כי אמילם.
(originally heard on hidabroot.org) Referring to the end of days , King David, over 3000 yrs ago, writes how Israel's enemies will encirle them and it goes on to compare the enemies to bees. What is this odd comparrison to bees? Why not say like lions, Tigers, or Bears? Rashi explains: Just as bees sting and immediately die. So too they will strike and immediately die. An apparent prophetic allusion to "suicide bombers". A method of war which is very popular among the enemies of Israel.
And to end on a good note, the end of the passage is clear: "they were extinguished like a thorn fire; in the name of the Lord that I shall cut them off."
"This psalm expresses gratitude and confidence. Just as David himself was catapulted from his personal straits to a reign marked by accomplishment and glory, so too Israel can look forward ro Divine redemption from the straits of exile and oppression."(The Artscroll Tehillim: chapter 118)

Interesting finding - "...Upon Edom I will cast my shoe..."
While reading Tehillim (Psalms) , I came across a passage that I felt was kind of intersting...maybe even a little prophetic. (-:
(Chapter 108:10) 10. Moab is my washbasin, Upon Edom I will cast my shoe, I will shout over Philistia.
(Chapter 108:10) 10. Moab is my washbasin, Upon Edom I will cast my shoe, I will shout over Philistia.
According to my understanding, many of today's scholars - both Talmudic and Kabbalist - agree that "Rome" or "Edom" is today's USA. Enjoy the clip...
