Shira Smiles: A good eyed people, according to the Torah in Parshat Balak, are the disciples of Avraham Avienu. A person can be involved in chesed all day but if they have an evil eye they will not benefit from this and the next world. If chesed comes out of selfishness then it is not true chesed.
